We are happy to welcome 1 or 2 well behaved (!) dogs, especially at Pier Cottage and Westcove House. There are wonderful dog walks nearby, especially on the dunes at Derrynane. On hill walks, please keep your dogs well under control as there are lots of sheep around – and of course lambs in spring.
Up to two dogs are allowed per property, subject to prior permission being obtained. Please discuss at time of enquiry. Dogs are not permitted upstairs or on any furniture. Dogs must not be left unattended in the property/properties at any time. When out of the property/properties dogs must be under the control of a responsible adult at all times. The client must clear up after the dogs promptly, whether in the grounds of the Westcove estate or on the grass in front of Pier Cottage, and dispose of bagged waste in an exterior bin. The client is responsible for any damage caused by their dogs and liable to reimburse the owner for any replacement or repair necessary. The owner reserves the right to terminate the contract if the behaviour of the client’s pet is considered unacceptable.
Where in Ireland?
What our guests say…
Westcove is a perfect spot to enjoy Ring of Kerry splendors away from other tourists. When you finish watching seals on ocean rocks (we counted 17 one morning), you can walk up the hill to get on the Ring of Kerry trail. There breathtaking views compete with sheep and wildflowers for your attention.
We recently rented both of the adjoining cottages in mid-winter! If you have ever dreamed of being all alone in an authentic and cozy Irish stone cottage with blazing log fires overlooking the most magnificent views you could ever imagine, with its own little beach and a colony of seals keeping an eye on you on your own private little peninsula then you have definitely found the right place.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom East Cottage for one week. It was wonderful to get ‘away from everything’. We could look out at night and see the stars without light pollution. It was so quiet. During the day it was relaxing to listen to the trickle of the water against the rocks; and to watch the seals making their way to the rocks.
Stayed for 6 days with family and friends visiting from USA, England and Ireland to celebrate my cousin’s very special 50th birthday. First impressions WOW… what a beautiful old Irish country home (castle I believe back in the day). It truly felt like home with all the home comforts. A group of 28, we used all 3 dwellings, house, cottage and stables.
An amazing week at Westcove with the best friends and Family we could wish for enhanced only by the beauty of this place! We would return in a heartbeat. Till we all meet again… Thank you xx
