The Triumphal Arch Lodge is a Grade B Listed Building and is part of the Colebrooke Estate, one of Northern Ireland’s most important and historic stately homes. The estate has a long history dating back to the 1640s when a large portion of confiscated land at Brookeborough was given to the Brooke family as a reward for services during the 1641 rebellion. The estate has remained in the Brooke family ever since and has been home to many notable military and public figures including Field Marshal Viscount Alan Brooke and Northern Ireland Prime Minister Basil Brooke, 1943-1963.

The gatelodge and Triumphal Arch entrance were designed to complement the great house beyond and make an impressive approach to the estate, while at the same time showing the taste of the Brookes and acting as an introduction to the grandeur that was to come.

Irish Landmark properties that welcome a pet may not have secure enclosures. It is vital that you supervise your pet during your stay. One dog is allowed at this property.

What our guests say…

Thank you for a spectacular weekend at the Triumphal Arch Lodge. We had the most amazing time, full of old world charm. It was really a most comfortable stay and the house manager was so welcoming and helpful, she couldn’t have been nicer.

We felt relaxed from the moment we arrived and thoroughly enjoyed the lodge, the estate and the area. Ideal situation for exploring, very quiet, compact and cosy. Bed linens were very nice and an open fire a definite bonus. We took our dog and she settled quickly and loved exploring too.

My husband and I stayed for the weekend and had a marvelous time. The house manager Miriam was lovely and was in contact with us via email as sadly we were not around to meet her as we were out and about. We were able to bring our dog which was great and the area is fabulous for walking. The house was warm and cosy with beautiful decor and a cosy feeling.

Our stay at Triumphal Arch Lodge was just wonderful. The lodge itself was beautifully restored. We slept well in comfortable beds with gorgeous linens and enjoyed relaxing in the sitting room between our many restorative walks around the estate. An experience like this is so much more enjoyable and authentic than a hotel. It is a home from home and having the dog enjoy it with us was a huge plus.
