Rathsallagh is central to some of the most beautiful countryside in Ireland’s Ancient East yet Dublin is less than one hour’s drive away. The O’Flynn family and their staff look forward to welcoming you to Rathsallagh. The atmosphere is happy and relaxed with log and turf fires, central heating throughout and luxurious bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms.

At Rathsallagh we have special kennels for pets. This consists of a stable with 2 variable size kennels, with an adjustable heat lamp. The kennels are located 1-minute walk from reception, they are also close to the courtyard rooms. We also have a larger kennel in the yard again with adjustable heat lamps. Please note that prior arrangements must be made. Please also note that pets cannot be permitted in the guest rooms, bar, drawing or dining rooms. However, you are free to wander about our grounds with your pet on or off the leash as you choose.

When bringing your dog with you to Rathsallagh please ensure to bring along evidence of up to date vaccinations. Kennel cough vaccinations are a must. You should also bring along your own feed and dog bedding.

What our guests say…

What can you say about Rathsallagh House apart from Exceptional! The staff can not do enough for you, they are polite and courteous, the food was absolutely amazing and has been every time we have visited. Attention to small details, it’s simply a magical place to go and I would suggest everybody who has the opportunity to visit, Sunday lunch is definitely not to be missed.

We visited this hotel for a lovely long relaxing break. Breakfast was amazing, first class quality and a variety of foods followed by a long read of the papers by the blazing fires in one of the drawing rooms. Dinner was excellent also and staff were so attentive and helpful. Huge comfortable bedroom and bathroom and even a heated kennel and acres of garden for our dog!

The staff are what really mark Rathsallagh out as special, from the moment we arrived we were welcomed like friends and even our dog was treated like a guest! I am not generally given to unadulterated praise and would rarely be so effusive, so much so that my friends were laughing when I said there was literally nothing that I could complain about!

The trip was for our 5th wedding anniversary, and we needed somewhere that was pet-friendly, as our new puppy was too young to go to kennels, so would have to come with us. Rathsallagh has a specially converted stable, and the dog was perfectly happy there for the two nights. The staff were great with him, and did everything to make sure he was comfortable.

We love returning to Rathsallagh where we got married. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The food is amazing. It’s just a lovely relaxing experience. We were able to sit down and take it easy in one of the drawing rooms after dinner in front of a warm fire and then later to go into the bar for some lively trad music. We only wish we could do it more often.
