What our guests say…

A peaceful rural retreat in a 18C vernacular farmhouse, lovingly restored by the Irish Landmark Trust. The rooms are comfortable and spacious with an adorable kitchen and nice reception rooms. We enjoyed evening drinks in the wonderfully maintained garden. I would recommend Knocknalosset House to anyone looking for an escape from the stresses of modern life for a long weekend!
We wanted tranquillity, peace and zero light pollution and boy did we get it. This is a traditional farmhouse on a proper Irish country lane and it was a fantastic break away from all the modern madness. We played card games and scrabble, rode our bikes all over the countryside, had glorious picnics in the front garden and chatted for hours over endless cups of tea.

If you want to experience country life in an old Irish Farmhouse, this is your chance. This home took us back in time and it was an amazing experience. We loved the town of Cootehill and made good friends at O’Leary’s wine, cheese, and goodie shop! We did sleep very well in the very comfortable beds and enjoyed the turf fires, the country side and the beautiful gardens).
We took a short break in the middle of the summer in order to escape from Dublin and found exactly what we were looking for! This property is set in a most remote, quiet area. We had very fine weather and I loved sitting in the quiet surrounds of the garden most of all.
